The Indian Premier League’s two new teams – Ahmedabad and Lucknow have officially named their draft choices ahead of the forthecoming Mega Auction for the 2022 season.
Team Ahmedabad has selected Hardik Pandya and Rashid Khan for (₹ 15 crore each), and Shubman Gill (₹ 8 crore).
Whilst Team Lucknow has chosen to go with KL Rahul (₹ 17 crore), Marcus Stoinis (₹ 9.2 crore), and Ravi Bishnoi (₹ 4 crore).
Vikram Solanki has been recruited as Ahmedabad’s Director of Cricket while Hardik Pandya will be guiding the franchise. Gary Kirsten will be in the service as the batting coach and mentor of the Ahmedabad franchise whilst Ashish Nehra has been recruited as the head coach.
Speaking about Lucknow, KL Rahul will put on the captaincy hat. Andy Flower will serve as the coach of the Lucknow franchise whilst former Gautam Gambhir will be in the service as the mentor of the franchise.
Initially, IPL franchises Ahmedabad and Lucknow were asked to present the list of their draft choices by 22nd January. Brijesh Patel, IPL chairman had vouched the development.
