India men’s national cricket team have retained the top spot in the latest ICC Men’s ODI Team Rankings after the annual update released on Tuesday. However, India’s lead over second-placed New Zealand national cricket team has reduced from eight points to five points.
India’s rating dropped from 119 to 118 points. New Zealand improved from 111 to 113 points after gaining two rating points. Meanwhile, reigning ODI World Cup champions Australia national cricket team stayed in third place with an unchanged rating of 109 points.
There was one major change in the top five rankings. South Africa national cricket team moved up to fourth place after gaining four rating points. Their rating improved from 98 to 102 points. As a result, Pakistan national cricket team slipped to fifth place with 98 points after losing four rating points.
Ireland and USA Move Up in Latest Rankings
Sri Lanka national cricket team remained sixth with 96 points, while Afghanistan national cricket team stayed seventh with 93 points. England cricket team held the eighth spot with 89 points.
Bangladesh national cricket team remained ninth with 84 points, while the West Indies cricket team stayed 10th after their rating dropped from 77 to 74 points.
Outside the top 10, Ireland cricket team climbed to 11th place by moving ahead of Zimbabwe national cricket team. The United States national cricket team also improved to 13th position after overtaking Scotland national cricket team.
The annual update also confirmed that India remain the No.1 ranked team in T20I cricket, while Australia continue to lead the ICC Men’s Test rankings.
