ICC Women’s ODI Rankings: West Indies duad of Stafanie Taylor, Hayley Mathews observe gains

Stafanie Taylor and Hayley Matthews have got up in the ICC Women’s ODI batting as well as in the all-rounder rankings.

The duo took the plunge for their side in Women’s Cricket WC Qualifier action, with Taylor heading into the top ten in batting (676) and hanging on to her No. 4 all-rounder ranking (319), as her colleague moved to equal eighth.

Matthews augmented to her highest career rating (272) uniting Katherine Brunt and Jess Jonassen in a three-way tie. Taylor is only surpassed by Marizanne Kapp (384), Natalie Sciver (372) and Ellyse Perry (365).

Captain Taylor was at her consistent foremost in the West Indies’ ODI facing Ireland at the Qualifier, taking the awarded wicket of Eimear Richardson in a spell of 2/15.

Hunting 160, Taylor sailed in an undefeated 41 from 54 balls in a six-wicket win. In the successful hunt, Taylor bounced Heather Knight, Rachael Haynes and Laura Wolvaardt to head to ninth.

Matthews was greedy in her bowling performance in the same match, withdrawing Ireland captain Laura Delany and Orla Prendergast in the same over, finishing with 2/20 from her 10-over allocation.

Players from Zimbabwe and Pakistan also made magnificent moves off the back of Qualifier action.

Bowlers stood out for the tourney hosts, with Sharne Mayers (24), Francisca Chipare (14) and Loreen Tshuma (18) all making notable movement in the rankings despite a trounce to Javeria Khan’s side.

For Pakistan, Sadia Iqbal (14) and Fatima Sana (16) also influenced, with Anam Amin (8) augmenting to 32 on the bowling rankings.
