Chennai Super Kings pacer Deepak Chahar to skip the first half of the forthcoming IPL due to a right quadriceps injury which he got during the final T20I match versus West Indies in Kolkata.
He was ruled out of the three-match T20I series against Sri Lanka, which India won 3-0 due to the same reason as well.
As per BCCI sources, Chahar is expected to be out for 8 weeks.
“Chahar is out for at least eight weeks, which means he will miss half of IPL 2022.”
The IPL 2022 begins on March 26th and CSK is holding back for a final notification from the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru where the pacer is recovering.
Chahar was bought by CSK for a massive ₹14 crore, which is the second most high-priced buy in this year’s IPL auction.
The IPL 2022 is scheduled to be played in the country from March 26th till May 29th.
