David Alaba has been taking time to throwback on his early days as a Real Madrid player, now that he has sorted out into life at Valdebebas and in the Spanish capital.
He appeared on a free transfer from Bayern Munich last summer, and has taken to life in Madrid with relative relieve. It was not all smooth, though.
“It [Bayern] was a second home after 13 years there,” Alaba notified. “I had an important role at the club and in the team.”
“I knew the city from top to bottom and I had a lot of friends in Munich. I had to give up a lot of comfort to join Real Madrid.”
Having described that 2021 was “an exciting year for him” and one full of emotion, Alaba voiced about his time in Madrid so far.
“A lot of people in the dressing room don’t speak English, so that forces me to speak Spanish,” Alaba jested. “But giving an interview in Spanish would be something else completely.”
