Bangladesh Cricket Board official, on 21st of March (Monday) stated that Taskin Ahmed will not get No-Objection Certificate to participate in the forthcoming IPL.
Speaking of which, Lucknow Super Giants reached Bangladesh Cricket Board in order to fetch Taskin for the IPL 2022 following Mark Wood was excluded from the tourney.
BCB cricket operations chairman Jalal Yunus notified, “Since we have two important series like the ongoing home tour of South Africa and the home series against Sri Lanka, we feel it won’t be right for him to take part in the IPL.”
‘”We have spoken with Taskin and he has understood the whole situation. He informed the franchise that he is not playing the IPL and will be available for the South Africa tour and later will return back home.”
In the meantime, BCB officials stated that they are waiting for a response from Shakib Al Hasan regarding his attainability during the proceeding tour of South Africa, considering he might have to come back home in the middle of the three-match ODI series to be with his ill family members.
“’We are expecting him to be available in the third ODIs unless his family members’ situation turns very critical. This is a crisis for him and he will be allowed to come whenever he wishes because family comes first.”
“We are in constant touch with him,” he said, adding that there is a possibility of him missing the two-match Test series if he returns home. ”He might miss the Test series if situation is such, but we must remember that he is going through a crisis and we need to back him.”
Thereafter, Bangladesh’s technical director Khaled Mahmud vouched that Shakib Al Hasan has declined the offer of coming back home today night and is staying on in South Africa to participate in the third ODI.
“Shakib turned down the offer of returning home tonight and will play the ODI,” Mahmud notified.
