Lucknow and Meerut ready for a thrilling final
Lucknow Falcons have enjoyed a remarkable turnaround in the tournament. They lost three of their first four games. However, they soon found their form.
The Falcons went unbeaten in their next seven matches. They finished second in the league table with 13 points. Lucknow then defeated Meerut in Qualifier 1 to reach the final directly.
Captain Bhuvneshwar Kumar has played a key role. The experienced pacer took 4/10 in Qualifier 1. He has 13 wickets in the tournament and has maintained an economy rate below six.
Ajeet Verma has scored 263 runs. Mohammad Saif has added 233 runs. Vipraj Nigam has also impressed with both bat and ball. He has scored at nearly 160 and taken 11 wickets.
Abhinandan Singh has been another major threat. He has 21 wickets and is second in the Purple Cap race.
Meerut Mavericks have reached the final for the fourth straight season. They started strongly and won seven matches in a row. They finished first with 15 points.
However, their form dipped later. They suffered two league defeats and also lost Qualifier 1 to Lucknow. They bounced back by beating Noida Kings by six wickets in Qualifier 2.
Swastik Chikara has scored 308 runs at a strike rate of 166.49. Rinku Singh has 240 runs at 171.
Zeeshan Ansari leads the wicket charts with 23 wickets. His economy rate is 6.79. Yash Garg also starred in Qualifier 2 with three wickets and an unbeaten half-century.
