It was a solid batting show by both the teams as Punjab Kings defeat Royal Challengers Bangalore by 5 wickets in their first game of the 2022 IPL.

Trailing 206, the team started on a good note with Mayank Agarwal and Shikhar Dhawan adjoining 71 runs in just 7.1 overs. Wanindu Hasaranga then caused a hindrance, removing Mayank on 32.

Dhawan and Bhanuka Rajapaksa resumed Punjab’s fight and appended 47 runs for the second wicket prior Harshal Patel gave RCB with their second success.

Before in the evening, Faf du Plessis scored 88 off 57 as Royal Challengers conclude on 205/2 following being invited to bat first. Faf found great comfort from Virat Kohli as the duo joined 118 runs for the second wicket. Kohli returned undefeated on 41 off 29 balls.
