The second Test between India and Sri Lanka ended in a draw at the SSC Ground in Colombo on August 27, 2026.
India won the two-match series 1-0. Both teams earned four World Test Championship (WTC) points from the drawn Test.
India scored 503/9 in their first innings. Devdutt Padikkal and Dhruv Jurel hit centuries. Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant also scored half-centuries.
Asitha Fernando was Sri Lanka’s best bowler. He finished with 4/106. Prabath Jayasuriya and Keshara Nuwantha took two wickets each. Lahiru Kumara claimed one.
Sri Lanka were then bowled out for 290. Sonal Dinusha led the batting with 103 runs. Sooriyabandara scored 80.
Prasidh Krishna and Manav Suthar took three wickets each for India. Saransh Jain picked up two wickets. Mohammed Siraj and Ravindra Jadeja took one each.
Sri Lanka were forced to follow on. They showed great fight in their second innings. They finished on 429/9 and saved the match.
Dinusha was the star again. He remained unbeaten on 133. Sooriyabandara scored 92. Kamindu Mendis added 55.
Suthar took three wickets for 121 runs. Jadeja claimed 3/94. Krishna, Siraj and Jain took one wicket each.
Dinusha was named Player of the Match. Padikkal won the Player of the Series award.
India Remain Fifth in WTC Table
India now have 68 points from 11 matches. Their points percentage is 51.52. They remain fifth in the WTC 2025-27 standings.
Australia lead the table with 80.00 PCT. South Africa are second with 75.00. New Zealand are third with 72.22. Bangladesh are fourth with 55.56.
Sri Lanka remain sixth with 24 points from six matches. Their PCT is 33.33.
India’s next WTC assignment is a two-Test series in New Zealand. Sri Lanka will face Pakistan in a two-Test series in Pakistan.
