The World Championship of Legends (WCL) will return for its third season in 2026. The tournament will be held in the United Arab Emirates from October 3 to October 18.
This will be the first time WCL is being hosted outside the United Kingdom. The first two editions were played in the UK.
Seven teams will compete in Season 3. They are India Champions, Pakistan Champions, England Champions, Australia Champions, South Africa Champions, West Indies Champions, and Bangladesh Champions.
Bangladesh Champions are the new addition this season. Their entry takes the number of teams from six to seven.
Several former international stars are expected to feature. The confirmed names include Yuvraj Singh, AB de Villiers, DJ Bravo, Shahid Afridi, Moeen Ali, David Warner, and Mohammad Mahmudullah.
WCL Aims to Expand Global Reach
The move to the UAE is a major step for the tournament. WCL has grown quickly since its launch.
Season 2 attracted 425 million viewers worldwide. The UAE edition is expected to bring the tournament to a wider audience.
“Season 3 is going to be very special. We are taking WCL to the UAE for the first time, giving our fans an experience they have never seen before. We promise to bring the biggest names in cricket and some of the biggest surprises yet. Season 3 is going to be our biggest and most exciting season so far,” Harshit Tomar said in a press release.
Ajay Devgn, Co-Owner of World Championship of Legends, also spoke about the upcoming season.
“WCL is more than just a cricket league – it is emotion, nostalgia and entertainment coming together on one platform. Looking forward to Season 3, it’s going to be our boldest season yet.”
India Champions won the first WCL title after beating Pakistan Champions in the final. South Africa Champions won Season 2 by defeating Pakistan Champions.
Pakistan Champions have reached both finals but are yet to win the trophy.
Full squads and the complete UAE schedule are yet to be announced.
