Hardik Pandya Trade Talks Stall as Mumbai Indians Yet to Decide on IPL 2027 Move

Mumbai Indians are yet to make a final decision on Hardik Pandya’s future ahead of the IPL 2027 season. Trade discussions with Kolkata Knight Riders and Chennai Super Kings are still at an early stage.

According to Cricbuzz, there has been no confirmed concrete offer from any franchise for Pandya. IPL 2027 trade deals are expected to be completed by the end of 2026.

Lucknow Super Giants and Rajasthan Royals have also been linked with the all-rounder. However, these links remain at the rumour stage.

Pandya returned to Mumbai Indians in 2024. The franchise finished last that season. Mumbai then reached Qualifier 2 in IPL 2025 but lost to Punjab Kings. They finished ninth in IPL 2026.

Since returning to Mumbai, Pandya has scored fewer than 225 runs in each IPL season. His average has also remained below 25. His strike rate has been below 150. He has taken 29 wickets during this period.

Why are Hardik Pandya trade talks difficult?

KKR are reportedly interested in Pandya. However, the franchise does not want to include any key players in a trade deal. This has made negotiations difficult.

No financial details or player packages have been confirmed from the talks so far.

Pandya has been out of action since IPL 2026. He is currently based in Bengaluru at the Centre of Excellence. He is working towards regaining full fitness.

In IPL 2026, Pandya played 10 matches. He scored 206 runs and took four wickets. He also had an economy rate of 11.42.

CSK have also been linked with Pandya. However, CEO Kasi Viswanathan said the franchise has not started working on a potential trade.

“We have not started applying our minds to this. First, we will have a coach. We have received calls from many interested candidates. We will sit and finalise,” Viswanathan was quoted by Cricbuzz as saying.

For now, Pandya’s IPL 2027 future remains uncertain.
