I–League team Gokulam Kerala FC have signed goal-keeper Rakshit Dagar for their upcoming season. Rakshit made his I–League debut for United Sikkim FC in the 2013 season. He joined DSK Shivajians in the 2015-2016 season and represented them in the Durand Cup and the Federation Cup. He next made his way to the north and joined Minerva Punjab FC in the 2017-2018 season and with them, he won his first I–League. After his one-year stint here, he played for East Bengal FC, another important move for this young and dynamic keeper in such a short span. He represented East Bengal for 18 matches during that season in which they finished runners-up in the I-League.
In the 2020-2021 season Rakshit Dagar joined Sudeva Delhi and played 10 matches for them. Rakshit had a phenomenal first season at Sudeva where he finished with the statistics of having the second-most number of clean sheets in the league and the best shot-saving percentage. These statistics led Gokulam Kerala FC to sign him up.
Gokulam Kerala FC president VC Praveen says, “Rakshit is one of the best goalkeepers in the league. He has already won the ILeague trophy a few years ago. He had impressive statistics last season and we believe he could make the most of it during his tenure at Gokulam Kerala FC”.
On his move to Gokulam Kerala FC Rakshit says, “I believe I can add more quality to Gokulam Kerala FC. I look forward to playing in Asia. My other target will be to win the league for a second time. Though I will miss playing at the historic EMS Corporation Stadium due to the pandemic, we will try our best to defend the title”.
