Commonwealth Games 2026 Day 7: Full Schedule, Timings and Medal Hopes for Indian Athletes

India will have another busy day at the Commonwealth Games 2026 as several athletes compete across different sports in Glasgow on Day 7. Indian athletes will be in action in weightlifting, athletics, boxing, swimming and lawn bowls. Many of them will fight for medals, while others will compete in qualification and quarter-final events.

Weightlifter Sanjana will begin India’s medal hopes in the women’s 77kg final. She will look to add another medal to India’s tally with a strong performance.

Parul Chaudhary, Murali Sreeshankar and Sanjana Lead India’s Challenge in Glasgow

In athletics, Murali Sreeshankar and Lokesh Satyanathan will compete in the men’s long jump final. Sreeshankar will aim for another Commonwealth Games podium finish.

Parul Chaudhary will also be one of India’s biggest medal hopes. She will compete in the women’s 3000m steeplechase final and will be chasing her first Commonwealth Games medal.

Manpreet Kaur will participate in the women’s shot put final, while Aryan Nehra will race in the men’s 1500m freestyle swimming final later in the night.

Earlier in the day, Tajinderpal Singh Toor and Samardeep Gill will compete in the men’s shot put qualification round. Sajan Prakash and Aneesh S. Gowda will also take part in the men’s 200m freestyle heats.

India’s boxing team will have a busy schedule with six quarter-final bouts. Sakshi Choudhary, Arundhati Choudhary, Sachin Siwach, Ankush Yadav, Narender Berwal and Jaismine Lamboria will all fight for places in the semi-finals. A victory in the quarter-finals will also guarantee them a bronze medal.

The men’s pairs team of Dinesh Kumar and Navneet Singh will face Namibia in lawn bowls.

Before the start of Day 7, India is placed ninth in the overall medal standings with 12 medals. The country has won two gold, seven silver and three bronze medals so far, with weightlifting and athletics contributing the majority of India’s success in Glasgow.
