Indian squad for the T20 World cup has been announced: Dhawan dropped, Ashwin makes a comeback

0
The BCCI has announced the 15 man squad for the T20 World Cup which will be held in the UAE. The team will be led by Virat Kohli. Rohit Sharma will be his deputy. There were many shockers concerning the selection. In-form opener Shikhar Dhawan was left out of the squad. Yuzvendra Chahal too was not picked, leggie Rahul Chahar was preferred over him. Ravichandran Ashwin made a surprise comeback into the T20 squad, he last played a t20 for India in 2017. his consistent performance in the IPL earned him a spot in the squad.

Chahal, Dhawan miss out

The surprise exclusion is that of Yuzvendra Chahal who had a decent in the T20I series in Sri Lanka. Shikhar too was in form in the previous IPL scoring back to back centuries. The exclusion of Dhawan means that captain Virat Kohli will open the batting with Rohit Sharma. Rahul Chahar will play a crucial role for the team in the absence of Chahal.

Shreyas Iyer, Thakur, and Deepak Chahar are the reserves

Shreyas Iyer will be returning to his full strength after a shoulder injury, he may be unlucky to miss out on the selection but he is one of the 3 reserves traveling with the squad. Deepak Chahar was always a regular member of the t20 side and Shardul Thakur makes the cut as well. These three players will be crucial if there is an injury.

Dhoni will be the mentor

Here is the top news of them all. Mahendra Singh Dhoni will be traveling as the mentor of the team. His inputs will be very valuable to all the players. The former India captain will work with head coach Ravi Shastri and the rest of the coaching staff during the entire tournament. Dhoni readily agreed to Shah’s request and will now join the team after the IPL. India will begin their World cup campaign against arch-rivals Pakistan on the 24th of October. Here is the full squad of team India. Virat Kohli (Capt), Rohit Sharma (VC), KL Rahul, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant (wk), Ishan Kishan (wk), Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Rahul Chahar, Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel, Varun Chakravarthy, Jasprit Bumrah, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohd Shami.

Rohit Sharma, from Hitman to Crisis Man, Says Anis Sajan

0
Rohit Sharma has come off age as a Test player. He has shown immense patience and concentration in the current series. He has scores of 36, 12, 83, and 21 at Lord, 19 and 59 and Leeds but most importantly as an opener, he along with Rahul has done the hard work of playing in tough conditions when the ball was swinging and seaming around. He has batted 900 balls in the whole series so far which shows the way he has adapted to tough English Conditions. What he missed in his 42 test match career was a hundred outside India and he did that today by scoring a magnificent hundred at the Oval. Going into the second innings India had conceded a lead of 99 runs but both Rohit Sharma and Rahul thwarted the English attack in tough conditions where the sun hardly came out even till team time. Mr. Cricket UAE Anis Sajan said, “Rohit Sharma was always known to be a white ball specialist but after he was given the role of the opener against South Africa in 2019, Rohit Sharma has blossomed as a Test player and averages more than 70 in India. He was India’s best player in the last series against England where everyone found it difficult in the spin-friendly conditions and he now proved it in English conditions that he has the right temperament and is India’s highest scorer in this series too with more than 300 runs in the four test matches.” The great Sunil Gavaskar had predicted after the Lord’s test where he missed a hundred that a hundred is around the corner for Rohit Sharma as he has shown immense focus and temperament which is what is required for Test Cricket. I am sure from being called as Hitman in white ball Cricket he will now be called India’s Crisis Man in Red Ball Cricket.

The mystery of Ravichandran Ashwin not being picked again reveals Cricket Man Anis Sajan

0
All eyes were on Virat Kohli when Michael Atherton asked Virat Kohli what’s your squad for the test and the skipper Virat replied two changes which was Yadav and Shardul coming in for Ishant Sharma and Mohammed Shami as Virat said with four left-handers in England side it’s a good match for Ravindra Jadeja with his seamers bowling over the wicket. Did I hear it right, yes I did as Ravichandran Ashwin was again missing from the side in the fourth test which was indeed baffling and surprising to every cricket follower and the tweets for the same went viral? Mr. Cricket UAE Anis Sajan said, “Ravichandran Ashwin has a terrific record against left-handers, he is the only bowler to pick 200 left-handers wicket in test cricket of its history of 143 years and his average is mind-boggling which is 19.55.” Virat Kohli also Ravindra Jadeja adds depth to the batting but his scores in the series so far are 10, 30, 4, 3, 40 and 56 which is around 200 runs in the six innings Jadeja has played. To add it Ravindra Jadeja has just picked up two wickets in the three test matches he has bowled and has been mainly used up the skipper to give a rest to the fast bowlers. All the cricket Pundits from Michael Vaughan to Politician Shashi Tharoor found the omission of Ravichandran Ashwin with Shashi Tharoor saying omitting Ashwin is like asking for a death wish and Michael Vaughan it’s the biggest mistake in test selection in Indian history. Anis Sajan further added, “There were many who made diplomatic statements after Ashwin’s omission on a ground which is known to help spinners and with the heatwave expected in the next few days, Ashwin’s absence will be sorely felt.” If India goes on to win this test match which is currently in balance with England having a slight edge having bowled India out for 190, it will silence all but no matter what the result not playing Ravichandran Ashwin for the fourth consecutive test is a mystery even Sherlock Holmes would not be able to solve.
