Bayer Leverkusen have signed Sparta Prague’s skilful teenager striker Adam Hlozek on a five-year contract, the Czech club vouched.
Leverkusen, 3rd in the Bundesliga this season, are all set to pay €18 million ($19.3m) plus an additional 9 million in bonuses to bring Hlozek, 19, to Germany.
“It’s time to say goodbye and move on. Thank you all,” Hlozek stated in a message to fans on Twitter.
Hlozek netted 34 goals in 105 top flight matches for Sparta.
He became the youngest scorer in the Czech league at the age of 16 years and 7 months in 2019 and the youngest player to score a hat-trick in the domestic top division aged 18 years and 9 months.
In the 2020/2021 season, he became the league’s top scorer with 15 goals in 19 matches.
Hlozek, who will be uniting with his Czech Republic teammate Patrik Schick at Bayer, has scored 1 goal in 14 matches for the national team.
