India produced a stunning bowling performance against Pakistan in the Women’s Asia Cup 2026 on September 5. The match was played at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium.
Pakistan were bowled out for just 55 runs. It was their lowest-ever total in T20I cricket.
India chased the target comfortably. They reached 56 runs in only 8.4 overs. The seven-wicket win gave India another dominant victory in the tournament.
Harmanpreet Kaur praises India’s bowling attack
India captain Harmanpreet Kaur was pleased with the team’s performance. She praised the bowlers for reading the conditions well and following their plans.
“It was a very important game for us. We talk about being ruthless, so very happy. All the bowlers have been outstanding, stuck to the plans, read the pitch well and executed well,” Harmanpreet said during the post-match presentation ceremony.
Sree Charani and Prema Rawat were the main stars with the ball. Both picked up three wickets each. Charani finished with figures of 3 for 7. Rawat took 3 wickets while giving away only 9 runs.
Deepti Sharma also impressed. She claimed 2 for 5 as India kept Pakistan under constant pressure.
Harmanpreet also spoke about India losing three wickets during the chase. She admitted it was not ideal but praised Pakistan’s bowling attack.
“It is very important to keep the standards high. I know what this team brings to the table. As far as losing three wickets is concerned, it can happen. Pakistan have a good bowling attack,” Harmanpreet said.
The match was also special for Harmanpreet. She became the first cricketer to captain 150 T20Is, across men’s and women’s cricket.
“I am grateful. I never thought that I will come this far. Keep supporting. Hope I keep continuing the good work,” Harmanpreet said.
Pakistan captain Fatima Sana admitted her team suffered a major collapse.
“We had a collapse. It was a fresh wicket, and we wanted to put maximum total as we had a good bowling side,” Fatima said.
India have already reached the semi-finals. They will play the first semi-final in Dubai on September 10.
