Virat Kohli once again showed why he is one of the most respected cricketers in the world. The Indian batting star shared a special moment with a specially-abled Pakistani fan outside Lord’s Cricket Ground on Saturday, June 28. The heartwarming interaction quickly became popular on social media and earned praise from cricket fans across both countries.
Kohli was at Lord’s to support the Indian women’s team during their important Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 match against Australia. India needed a win to reach the semi-finals. However, Harmanpreet Kaur’s side suffered a narrow defeat and was knocked out of the tournament.
Virat Kohli’s kind gesture leaves cricket fans emotional
After the match, a Pakistani fan in a wheelchair met Kohli outside the stadium. The emotional supporter told the former India captain that meeting him had always been his dream.
“It was my dream to meet you in person. You are a great player,” the fan told Kohli.
Kohli stopped to greet the fan with a smile. He spent a few moments talking to him and made the meeting memorable. The fan looked delighted after the interaction. A video of the moment soon spread across social media. Many fans appreciated Kohli for his kindness and humble nature.
The touching gesture came despite the disappointment of India’s exit from the Women’s T20 World Cup. Cricket fans from India and Pakistan praised Kohli for taking time to make one supporter’s dream come true. Many described the moment as an example of how sport can bring people together beyond national boundaries.
Several former Indian cricketers were also present at Lord’s to support the women’s team. Ravi Shastri and Shikhar Dhawan were seen alongside Kohli during the match.
India entered the game knowing only a victory would secure a place in the semi-finals. England, Australia and West Indies had already qualified. However, Australia once again proved too strong. Ellyse Perry played a brilliant innings of 56 runs from 38 balls and was named Player of the Match. The result ended India’s campaign, but Kohli’s heartwarming gesture became one of the most talked-about moments of the day.
