World Cup 2022: England’s spectacular win against San Marino

The World Cup qualifiers are in their closing stages and England have formally qualified for the classic event with an astonishing 10-0 win over San Marino.

While Emile Smith Rowe allured headlines for a goal on his first start for England, it was Harry Kane who became the peak England goal scorer in a calendar year as he scored FOUR times facing the European minnows – a record that put him within five of Wayne Rooney’s all-time record.

Speaking on the Sports Bar, Cundy said: “Harry Kane is another four steps closer to breaking the all-time England scoring record, which is currently held by Wayne Rooney – in nearly half the caps.”

“It is an astonishing record by Harry Kane. He has scored seven goals in his last two games and 48 in 67.”

“Those numbers are utterly astounding and he will get there.”

“He’s one of the very best, but the world, right now. If they can get a tune out of Harry Kane then why can’t England go all the way to the World Cup final and bring it back.”
