Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Anurag Singh Thakur launched the countrywide Fit India Freedom Rider Cycle Rally at Major Dhyan Chand Stadium in New Delhi on World Bicycle Day today.
On the event, Mr. Thakur apace with Union Ministers Mansukh Mandaviya and Kiren Rijiju as well as 750 Young Cyclists pedalled 7.5 kilometre distance.
As India is observing, Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has taken an eccentric step to conduct this bicycle rally.
Speaking on the moment, Mr. Thakur beseeched people to use bicycles to nurture the FIT India campaign.
The motive of this programme is to encourage people to take up and accept cycling in their daily lives for physical fitness activities.
Bicycle rallies will also be conducted at block level in 10 districts of the state till 10th of this month.
