BCCI president Sourav Ganguly stated, the Asia Cup, which was set to be held in Sri Lanka, has been scheduled to the UAE.
“Asia Cup will be in UAE, as it is the only place where there won’t be rains,” Ganguly notified reporters following the Board’s Apex Council meeting.
Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) had informed the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) that the board will not be in a condition to conduct the forthcoming version of the Asia Cup T20 due to the economic and political crisis in the country.
The modification comes after the SLC recently deferred the 3rd edition of the Lanka Premier League (LPL) because of the ongoing crisis.
Asia Cup is slated to be conducted from 27th of August to 11th of September and will be played in the T20 format.
