Pawel Fajdek triumphs 5th consecutive world hammer throw title

Poland’s Pawel Fajdek secured his 5^th world title in the men’s hammer throw in Eugene, Oregon.

Fajdek managed a best of 81.98 metres on this 3^rd effort to seal gold 95cm ahead of compatriot and great rival Wojciech Nowicki, the Olympic champion in Tokyo previous year.

Norway’s Eivind Henriksen took bronze with a best of 80.87m to go with his silver medal from Tokyo.
