Pawel Fajdek triumphs 5th consecutive world hammer throw title

Poland’s Pawel Fajdek secured his 5th world title in the men’s hammer throw in Eugene, Oregon.

Fajdek managed a best of 81.98 metres on this 3rd effort to seal gold 95cm ahead of compatriot and great rival Wojciech Nowicki, the Olympic champion in Tokyo previous year.

Norway’s Eivind Henriksen took bronze with a best of 80.87m to go with his silver medal from Tokyo.
