Ishan Kishan and Tilak Varma made it appear like Mumbai Indians may be moving to win in their trail of a target of 194 but Yuzvendra Chahal turned things around for RR following Jos Buttler became the first player to score a century this season.
Jos Buttler was the supporter early on for the Rajasthan Royals with his second IPL century following which Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal took over in putting the break for Mumbai Indians’ chase to the 194-run target.
It was a game that fluctuated and both teams had their low points however in the end, it was RR that came up. Mumbai, however, seem to have chanced upon a reliable talent in the form of Tilak Varma, who stroked 61 off 33 balls.
Varma and Ishan Kishan, who himself scored 54 off 43 balls, put up a association of 81 runs off 54 balls, at which point it seemed like MI might earn the match. Nevertheless, Chahal and Ashwin stopped the chase and Mumbai finished short of 23 runs short.
