Medhavi Bidhuri grabs attention with ‘6-7’ celebration in Women’s DPL 2026

The Women’s Delhi Premier League (DPL) 2026 began on August 20. The opening game saw defending champions South Delhi Superstarz take on Central Delhi Queens at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi.

South Delhi Superstarz started their title defence with a 29-run win. They posted 156/5 in 20 overs. Nishika Singh and Tanisha Singh scored important half-centuries.

Central Delhi Queens managed 127/7 in their 20 overs. However, their leg-spinner Medhavi Bidhuri caught the attention of fans with her performance and unique celebration.

Who is Medhavi Bidhuri?

Medhavi Bidhuri is a young right-arm leg-spinner from Delhi. She has been part of the city’s domestic cricket setup for several years.

Bidhuri played for South Delhi Superstarz in the 2025 edition of the DPL. She is now part of Central Delhi Queens for the 2026 season.

Against the defending champions, Bidhuri finished with impressive figures of 2/24 in four overs.

Her second wicket came in the 16th over. She dismissed Nishika Singh after Arushi Goel took a diving catch at mid-wicket.

Bidhuri then performed the ‘6-7’ celebration. She moved both hands up and down in a seesaw-like motion.

The celebration quickly attracted attention on social media. It has become a popular trend among Gen Z users.

Bidhuri’s jersey number also has an interesting story. She initially wanted to wear No. 12. However, the number was already taken.

Her younger sister suggested No. 67 because of the popularity of the ‘6-7’ trend.

Bidhuri has played 11 T20 matches. She has taken 11 wickets, with best figures of 3/20. Her economy rate is 6.68.

Despite her strong performance, Central Delhi Queens could not stop South Delhi Superstarz from beginning their campaign with a win.
