Jordan has whooped on the Asian Football Confederation (AFC) to instigate an inquiry to find out the gender of a goalkeeper on the Iranian women’s football team, recognized as Zohreh Koudaei, reports Marca.
The happening came out after a qualifying game for the Women’s Asia Cup, 2022 between Iran and Jordan in which Iran won 4-2.
Koudaei, the Iran keeper, saved two penalties as the victory confirmed Iran’s qualification for the Asia Cup.
This led Prince Ali bin Hussein, the president of Jordanian Football Association to claim that Koudaei is a male displaying as a female.
He also followed up the aver with a tweet that he forwarded to the Asian Football Confederation, calling the situation “very serious if true,” though, demanding the association to “wake up.”
