Indonesia Open 2022: Prannoy steps into quarterfinals

HS Prannoy, one of the stars of India’s epic Thomas Cup victory, resumed his good form as he stepped into the quarterfinals of the Indonesia Open 2022.

Open Super 1000 with a straight-game triumph over Hong Kong’s Ng Ka Long Angus.

Prannoy, 29, who is looking to conclude his five-year title shortage, gave another magnificent performance to outplay Angus 21-11 21-18 in a second-round game that lasted 41 minutes.

In the women’s doubles, Ashwini Ponnappa and N Sikki Reddy left after losing 16-21 13-21 to Chen Qing Chen and Jia Yi Fan of China.

The men’s doubles duo of MR Arjun and Dhruv Kapila also lost, sinking 19-21 15-21 to China’s Liu Yu Chen and Ou Xuan Yi.
