India Beat England by 6 Runs in IND vs ENG 5th Test, Level Anderson Tendulkar Trophy by 2-2

India won a thrilling match against England by just 6 runs on Day 5 of the 5th Test at The Oval. With this win, the five-match Test series ends in a 2-2 draw.

Fast bowler Mohammed Siraj was the hero for India. He took 5 wickets and was named Player of the Match. Prasidh Krishna also played a big role, picking up 4 important wickets. England were chasing 374 runs but fell short and were bowled out for 367.

The match was tense till the final moment. England started Day 5 needing 71 runs with four wickets in hand. India, however, held their nerves and picked up the remaining wickets in the morning session. The pressure was high, but Siraj and Krishna made sure India crossed the finish line.

Mohammed Siraj Shines with a 5 Wicket Haul at The Oval

Earlier, England won the toss and decided to bowl first. India were bowled out for just 224 in their first innings. In reply, England scored 247, gaining a small lead. But India came back strong in the second innings. Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a brilliant century to take India to 396 runs. England needed 374 to win but couldn’t reach the target.

Harry Brook and Joe Root gave India a big scare on Day 4. They attacked the Indian bowlers and made the match exciting. But India bounced back late in the day with three quick wickets. The morning of Day 5 saw more drama, but India kept calm and finished the job.

After the win, the Indian opener KL Rahul said this series showed the world that Test cricket is still alive and exciting. He praised the team for fighting hard and never giving up. “It might seem like a draw, but for us, it feels like a big win,” he said.

Mohammed Siraj was full of joy after the match. “It feels amazing,” he said. “I believed I could do it today. We fought hard from Day 1 and got the reward.”

This win will be remembered as one of India’s best Test match victories outside home.
