Harmanpreet Kaur has been recruited as Indian women’s team ODI skipper for the forthcoming Sri Lanka tour, commencing from 23rd of June.
The action was made following Mithali Raj declared her retirement on Wednesday.
BCCI stated on Wednesday that, “The All-India Women’s Selection Committee met on Wednesday to pick the squads for India’s upcoming tour of Sri Lanka. India will play three T20Is beginning June 23rd and as many ODIs in Dambulla and Kandy respectively”.
In the meantime, Mithali concluded her marvellous career with a record 7805 runs in 232 ODIs. She also exhibited India in 12 Tests and 89 T20I.
It will wrap up on a shimmering career since making her debut for India in 1999. Mithali has played 12 Tests, 232 ODIS and 89 T20Is for India in her 23-year-old career.
