Cristiano Ronaldo leads Manchester United to victory on his return to the club after 12 years

Cristiano Ronaldo enjoyed a dream return to Manchester United with a brace as the Red Devils beat Newcastle 4-1 in front of a jam-packed Old Trafford on Saturday. Ronaldo now has 120 United goals to his name but scored his first since leaving for Real Madrid 12 years ago to take Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men top of the Premier League table. Manchester United were made to work hard for the three points as Newcastle showed courage on the counter. Manchester United were able to rely on Ronaldo’s predatory instincts to strike twice on either half of the game.

Cristiano Ronaldo announced his return to the Premier League with a brace on his second Manchester United debut, helping his side win 4-1 against Newcastle United at the Old Trafford Stadium on Saturday. After the comprehensive win, the Red Devils went to the top of the table with 10 points from four matches. The legendary Portuguese forward made his first Premier League appearance 12 years and 118 days after his previous outing at the end of his first spell back in May 2009.

The Portuguese Magnifico Bruno Fernandes and late substitute Jesse Lingard were on target for United as well. In addition midfielder, Paul Pogba produced another masterclass as he added to his assists tally. He provided two assists taking his total to 7 from 4 games this season in the Premier League.

Manchester United will be looking to win the Premier League this season after a terrific transfer window. They last won the League in 2021 under Sir Alex Ferguson.
