BCCI to organize Pre-IPL Fitness Assessment Camp at NCA

In front the IPL 2022, all national cricketers, who are not a part of the current Test squad in Mohali, have been told by the BCCI to be present at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru.

The player will go through a 10-day fitness procedure before the start of the tourney.

The players were asked to report at the NCA by Friday as the camp was arranged to start on Saturday. The decision has been taken by the Indian cricket board on the suggestion of the national selection committee, who are concerned related to the players’ fitness.

Furthermore, as per report all the contracted and non-contracted players, counting Shikhar Dhawan, Shardul Thakur, Ravi Bishnoi, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Harshal Patel, Avesh Khan, Washington Sundar, Sanju Samson, Ishan Kishan, Venkatesh Iyer, Deepak Hooda, Yuzvendra Chahal, are notified to go to the NCA.

It has also been reckoned that the players who are competing in Ranji Trophy will be present in Bengaluru following the third and final round, which ends on Sunday.

The camp at the NCA seems to have started as on Saturday, KL Rahul shared a picture on his social media handle in which he could be seen with Dhawan, Bhuvneshwar, Shardul and Suryakumar.

Ruturaj, Suryakumar and Deepak Chahar are thus far going through their respective recoveries after suffering injuries during the Test series versus West Indies and Sri Lanka.
