Manjeet Singh and Pawan Rajbhar were the eye catchers of the game as India beat Japan 2-1 in the first match of the Super 4s in Jakarta.
Manjeet scored a magnificent solo goal for India in the 7th minute of the first quarter, however Takuma Niwa made it equal in the second quarter as the score board displayed 1-1 at half-time.
Japan were the more controlling side across both quarters considering the possession, and had 4 penalty corners; in the end they scored through their third as Niwa scored on a recoil following Suraj Karkera had made a great save.
Nevertheless, India made a superb bounce back in the third quarter through Pawan Rajbhar, and surged in confidence , as there were more circle penetrations from Indian squad throughout the remaining of the game as India continued on to their one-goal lead.
With this victory, India jumped to the top of the Super 4s with 3 points.
