Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has vouched Alexandre Lacazette will be the club’s new captain till the season ends.
He has worn the armband abundance of times in the past few weeks following former strike partner Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was dismissed of the captaincy in December after a disciplinary breach.
Arteta has taken ample of time to decide who will wear the armband however now he has confirmed Lacazette is the man for the role.
Slightly problematically, he is on course to quit the Emirates Stadium this summer when his current agreement expires.
It means Arteta will once again need to review the role prior of the 2022/23 season.
Lacazette is anticipated to return to his former side Lyon this summer with the French club eager on re-signing their former striker.
