Argentina international joins AS Roma on free transfer

The Europa Conference League champions stated Argentina international striker Paulo Dybala has united with Italian side AS Roma on a free transfer after his departure from Juventus.

Dybala, who was connected with a transfer to Serie A side Inter Milan following his deal with Juventus ran out, has signed a 3-year contract with Roma.

As per an Italian news agency, the deal is worth €6 million ($6.14 million).

“The days that have led up to me signing this contract have been filled with so many emotions,” Dybala stated in a statement.

“I am joining a team that is on the up, a club that continues to put in place strong foundations for the future, and a coach, Jose Mourinho, that it will be a privilege to work with.”

Dybala, 28, triumphed 5 league titles and 4 Coppa Italia trophies with Juventus following joining them from Palermo in 2015, scoring 115 goals in 293 features across all tournaments.

Nevertheless, his last 2 seasons with the Turin-based club were obstructed by a string of injuries.

“He has already joined up with his new teammates at the training camp in Portugal and will begin preparations for the new season this week,” Roma stated.

“Dybala has opted to wear the No. 21 shirt for the club.”

Roma concluded 6th in Serie A last season and earned the Europa Conference League under Mourinho.

They started their league campaign with a trip to Salernitana on 14th of August.
