Sofiane Loukar, an Algerian footballer, suffered a heart attack and passed away after running into with his goalkeeper in a second division match in Oran on Saturday, a local news outlet revealed.
The APS agency stated 28-year-old Loukar, from Mouloudia Saida, was injured after colliding with his goalkeeper mid-way through the first half of their Ligue 2 brush at ASM Oran.
He recommenced playing following treatment but then crumpled some 10 minutes later, the agency disclosed.
Loukar was hurried to hospital but expired of a heart attack on his way, APS stated. When news of his death was notified to the two teams, they deserted the match.
