FC Barcelona and the player Ronald Araujo have outreached an agreement to re-establish his agreement till 30th of June 2026. The buyout clause prescribed is set at €1 billion.
The signing of the new agreement will be held on 29th of April at 1:30 PM CEST (5:00 PM as per IST) on the field at Camp Nou, the event is closed to the public).
The event will be telecast around the world on Barca TV and Barca TV+ from 1:30 PM CEST (5:00 PM as per IST).
The central defender started playing professionally for his hometown team, and later united the lower categories at Rentistas in the Uruguayan Second Division.
Araujo signed a five-year agreement with Barca B on 29th of August 2018. For the 2020/21 season the defender became a crucial part of the FC Barcelona first team squad triumphing his first trophy at the Club, the Copa del Rey.
In his second season with the first team he has evinced himself to be the present and future for Barça, becoming an imperative part of the club’s defence.
His skills in defence and scoring goals shows he is a player for long terms to come as his tally of 4 goals this season is notable.
