Barcelona have made a few alluring moves in the transfer market recently by declaring the arrival of Andreas Christensen and Franck Kessie.
Whilst they are anticipated to sign a few more top-quality players during the remaining of the summer transfer window, Barça are also keeping eyes on young talents across Spanish football and Europe, in extension, in an attempt to bolster their youth setup.
According to a report, one such player could be Sergi Altimira, a former La Masia prospect who is surely becoming a target for the Barca this summer.
Son of former Barcelona U16 director Aureli Altimira, Sergi had sparked their youth career at La Masia ahead of eventually quitting the youth setup in 2019. He immediately shook hands with Sabadell and has never looked back since.
The young CMF was one of the bright stars at Sabadell last season, as he racked up 28 features in Primera Division R.F.E.F.
His solid performances in the 3rd division have put Barcelona on high alert, with the club purportedly eager on re-signing the player.
It seems Barça want to bring back Altimira as part of their plan to enhance the ranks in the Barcelona B setup.
After the uncommon success of Pedri, it is not a secret the club have appeared overly zealous about hunting talented midfielders across Spain.
The report proposes Sabadel are asking Barcelona to meet Altimira’s release clause, however the Catalans are exploring grounds for negotiations as they reckon they can sign the youngster on a cut-price deal this summer.
