Barcelona right-back vouches quitting the club

Dani Alves has vouched he is quitting Barcelona for a second time following returning to the club last year.

Alves, 39, right-back returned to Barcelona in November, 5 years after he left the Nou Camp for Juventus.

Overall, Alves made 407 appearances for Barcelona, triumphing 6 La Liga titles.

“I would like to thank all the staff for the opportunity they gave me to return to this club and to be able to wear that wonderful shirt again. You don’t know how happy I am,” Alves stated.

“It closes a very beautiful cycle and opens another even more challenging one,” he stated in a post on Instagram.

During his initial 8-year span with Barcelona, Alves also triumphed the Champions League 3 times and 4 Copa del Rey titles, among 23 trophies.

The Brazilian triumphed Serie A with Juventus in 2016-17 and Ligue 1 with PSG in both 2017-18 and 2018-19, with a move to Sao Paulo prior his return to the Nou Camp.

He began both Brazil’s victories over Japan and South Korea this month and will anticipate to be a part of his nation’s World Cup squad later this year.
