Former India opener Shikhar Dhawan has entered a new phase of life. The veteran cricketer married his partner Sophie Shine on February 21. The wedding was intimate but luxurious. Only close friends and family members attended the ceremony. However, pictures soon went viral on social media.
The couple kept most celebrations private. Still, fans quickly noticed Dhawan’s stylish accessories. The batter wore a luxury watch that became the biggest talking point. Reports said the timepiece was worth around ₹65 lakh. It was a Rolex Day-Date in 18-carat yellow gold with the brand’s famous Presidential bracelet. The watch is often linked with success and major life milestones. Many fans felt it perfectly suited a wedding day.
Sophie Shine also caught attention with her unique bridal look. She skipped the traditional red bridal colour. Instead, she chose a soft and elegant style. She wore an ivory lehenga designed by Manish Malhotra. The outfit had floral embroidery in coral, peach, and sage green shades. The look appeared modern and graceful.
The newlyweds later posted wedding photos online with the caption, ‘Mr. & Mrs. Dhawan’. The pictures showed romantic and joyful moments. Fans and fellow cricketers flooded the comments with congratulations.
Shikhar Dhawan’s cricket legacy
Dhawan remains one of India’s most successful white-ball batters. In international cricket, he scored 2315 runs in 34 Tests. He also made 6793 runs in 164 ODIs and 1759 runs in 68 T20Is. In the 50-over format, he averaged 44.11. He hit 17 centuries and 39 fifties.
In the IPL, he scored 6769 runs in 222 matches. He also registered two centuries and 51 half-centuries. His consistency across formats made him a fan favourite. Even after retirement, Dhawan continues to stay in the spotlight, now for his personal happiness as well as his cricket achievements.
