Sunrisers Hyderabad featured one of the most balanced squads in IPL 2025, with star players such as Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, Pat Cummins, Nitish Kumar Reddy, and Heinrich Klaasen. However, despite their depth, they failed to secure a top-four finish.
The 2016 champions, who were runners-up in IPL 2024, entered the IPL 2026 mini-auction with INR 25.50 crore in their purse and 10 slots to fill. Ahead of the auction, Mohammed Shami, originally bought in the IPL 2025 mega auction, was traded to Lucknow Super Giants.
During the auction, SRH signed Shivang Kumar, Sakib Hussain, Omkar Tarmale, Amit Kumar, Praful Hinge, and Krains Fuletra for ₹30 lakh each. They also brought in wicketkeeper-batter Salil Arora for ₹1.50 crore. Their major buys included Liam Livingstone for ₹13 crore, Jack Edwards for ₹3 crore, and Shivam Mavi for ₹75 lakh, as they look to push for a second IPL crown.
