Former India all-rounder Yuvraj Singh has publicly apologised to MS Dhoni and Kapil Dev after controversial remarks made by his father, Yograj Singh.
In a recently released podcast teaser, Yuvraj made it clear that he does not support his father’s statements. The issue has been ongoing for many years and has often created debates in the cricket world.
Yuvraj Singh distances himself from Yograj’s remarks
“I would like to apologise to Kapil Dev and MS Dhoni,” Yuvraj said in an exclusive video to Sport Tak, addressing the long-standing issue.
Yograj Singh has repeatedly criticised MS Dhoni in the past. He accused the former India captain of sidelining Yuvraj from the national team. These comments have resurfaced many times and have sparked fresh controversies.
Yuvraj has mostly stayed silent on this matter until now. He revealed that he has already spoken to his father privately. “I have told dad that it’s not ok,” he added, showing his discomfort with such statements.
The upcoming podcast episode will be one of Yuvraj’s rare appearances. In the teaser, he also spoke about several cricket topics. He shared his views on players like Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Sanju Samson, Abhishek Sharma, Rishabh Pant and Vaibhav Sooryavanshi.
Yuvraj also criticised Sunrisers Hyderabad for not giving Abhishek Sharma the captaincy in IPL 2026. Instead, Ishan Kishan was given the role in the absence of Pat Cummins.
Yograj Singh has also made serious claims against Kapil Dev in the past. He alleged that Kapil affected his career in the 1980s. He even claimed that he once went to Kapil’s house with a pistol. Kapil chose not to respond strongly. The issue has remained a sensitive topic over the years.
