The Asia Cup 2025 will be played in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) from September 9 to 28. This will be the 17th edition of the tournament.
For the first time in history, the Asia Cup will feature eight teams. The competition will be played in the T20 format, serving as a practice ground for the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026, which will be held in India and Sri Lanka.
ASIA CUP 2025 Venues and Groups
The teams are divided into two groups. Group A has India, Pakistan, UAE, and Oman. Group B includes Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, and Hong Kong.
The top two teams from each group will move to the Super Four stage. Each team will play against one another in this stage. The top two sides from the Super Four will qualify for the final in Dubai on September 28.
Dubai will be the main host. It will stage 11 matches, including the final. Abu Dhabi will host eight matches.
The most awaited match of the group stage will be India vs Pakistan on September 14 in Dubai. If both teams qualify, they can also meet in the Super Four on September 21. There is even a chance that they face each other again in the final, which would be a historic first in the Asia Cup.

India enters the tournament as the defending champion. They won the 2023 Asia Cup after beating Sri Lanka in the final. India also holds the record for the most Asia Cup titles (8). Sri Lanka is second with six titles, while Pakistan has lifted the trophy twice.
