India And Australia Recently encountered each other for the Final match of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 on 19 November, Saturday at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. Australia won the toss and chose to bowl to restrict India from putting a high score on the board.
India put a low score on the board as all the batters collectively put runs together. The opening batters Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill had a low partnership as they scored 47 and 4 runs each off 31 and 7 deliveries.
The middle order batters Virat Kohli and KL Rahul added to the team’s score and scored 54 and 66 off 63 and 107 balls. India gave Australia a target of 241 runs and got three early wickets in the powerplay.
However, Australia’s top order batsman Travis Head stuck to the pitch like a magnet and scored 137 runs off 120 balls. Australia chased the low target of 241 runs in just 43 overs and won the game by 6 wickets.
Pat Cummins on Winning the ICC Cricket World Cup title for the 6th Time
“I think we saved our best for last. Couple of big match players stood up, and we’re pretty stuffed. We’ve been batting first pretty much for the whole tournament, today we thought, it’s a good night to chase down, we thought it might actually get a little bit easier. Everyone was pretty keen to get out there. It was a bit slower than I thought, didn’t particularly spin probably as much as we thought either”, said Pat Cummins.

“Everyone adjusted pretty well and bowled some tight lines. On a slow wicket like that with variable bounce, we thought a couple of catchers on leg-side, you got to score in ODI cricket, so put a few catchers there and make them make a couple of decisions”, he added.
