India’s Shubi Gupta and A Charvi emerged winners within the women under-12 and under-8 sections severally within the FIDE World Cadets Chess Championship.
Shubhi Gupta, hails from Ghaziabad, scored 8.5 points from eleven rounds to assert the highest prize within the under-12 event.
In the women under-8 section, with 9.5 Charvi finished 1st points from eleven rounds.
Charvi was trailing Bodhana Sivanandan (England), who finished second for the last 3 rounds, however managed to catch and overtake her, because of a much better tie-break score when each finished up with 9.5 points. Veda Pungavanam finished tenth with seven.5 points.
In the under-10 class, India’s Hanya Shah took the eighth spot with 7.5 points whereas compatriots Aadya Ranganath (7 points) and V Tirupurambika (7 points) finished fourteenth and nineteenth severally.
In the open events, India’s Ethan Vaz scored eight points to require the sixth spot within the under-12 category, whereas consequent best was Arjun Adireddy (7 points) in 20th place.
Within the under-10 section, Vivaan Vishal Shah (8 points) settled for ninth place, whereas France’s Lacan Rus David took the primary prize grading 9 points.
India’s Safin Safarullakhan successfully secured a bronze medal within the under 8 class with 9 points.
