Two Australia Women Cricketers Reportedly Molested in Indore, Australia Team files FIR

In a shocking turn of events, two Australian women cricketers were reportedly followed and molested by a man in Indore. The incident took place on Thursday morning, October 23, when the players were returning to their hotel after visiting a café.

The players were staying at the Radisson Blu Hotel along with the rest of the Australian squad. The team is currently in Indore for their final league-stage match of the Women’s World Cup 2025, which is scheduled for Saturday.

Police Complaint Filed and Suspect Booked

The team’s security manager, Danny Simmons, filed a complaint at the M.I.G. Police Station later that evening. Following the complaint, the police launched an investigation into the matter.

According to reports from The Times of India, CCTV footage from the area helped identify the suspect. The accused, reportedly named Aqeel, is a resident of the Khajrana area in Indore. He has been booked under charges related to “outraging modesty and stalking.”

Police officials confirmed that the investigation is ongoing. They also assured the Australian team that player safety remains their top concern.

A senior police officer said, “The accused was identified through CCTV footage near the café and hotel area. He has been booked, and further questioning is underway.”

The local authorities have also increased security around the team’s hotel and practice venues to prevent any further incidents.

Meanwhile, officials from Cricket Australia and the Women’s World Cup 2025 organizing committee have been informed about the situation.

A police spokesperson added, “We are taking all necessary steps to ensure the safety and security of the players. The matter is being treated very seriously.”

This shocking incident has sparked concern among fans and players about security arrangements during international tournaments in India.
