Trent Boult will return to the team for the upcoming ODI World Cup despite not being in the central contract

Fast bowler Trent Boult, who was dropped from the New Zealand Cricket Board’s central contract, has agreed to play the ODI World Cup 2023. On Thursday, NZC announced the names of 20 players who received central contracts, in which Trent Boult was not named. Despite this, he has expressed his commitment to play the World Cup.

Bolt was released from the central contract in August last year to be a part of T20 leagues around the world and spend time with family, but then the board itself kept in mind the World Cup to be held in India this year. Keeping offered a sports contract for the upcoming few ODI series. Bolt accepted this offer of the board. Now Trent Boult can be seen in the World Cup this year.

After accepting this offer for ODIs, will Trent Boult be a part of the Test team as well? Right now it seems difficult to say anything clearly on this question. The New Zealand team will play against South Africa in February 2024 and Australia in March 2024 after the World Cup.
