The world was stunned with the conflict between Russia and Ukraine which started on Thursday. The whole world is watching as to what is happening in Europe. Tennis world, namely players from Russia and Ukraine have now come out and appealed for return to normalcy and have made a huge call for peace. The rising tensions and the attack on Ukraine has already put Russia on notice where there could be sanctions on every front.
Tennis players ask peace to be given a chance –
Russian tennis stars like Daniil Medvedev, Karen Khachkanov, Elina Vesnina and more have called for peace after Russia declared war on Ukraine. The tennis stars made a sincere appeal to stop the matter from escalating with a simple message which read “No War”. The tennis players took to social media to post this heartfelt message as the crisis between Russia and Ukraine intensifies day by day. Even Ukraine tennis star Elina Svitolina too put an emotional and heartfelt message about what her country is going through.
Russia lose champions league final –
While the tennis stars are putting up a united front, the Russian football fans will not get to host the champions league final. The match which was to be played at the Gazprom Arena at St. Petersburg has been taken away from the Russian football association. The champions league final will now be played in Paris. This is the first action that has been taken on the Russian decision to invade Ukraine and declare war. Manchester United recently decided not to renew their deal with Russian Airline Aeroflot as a sponsor. Chelsea owner Roman Abramovic too faces uncertain future as the Blues owner after calls have erupted to freeze the Russian billionaire’s accounts.
