Cricket enthusiasts, mark your calendars! The tickets for India’s highly anticipated group stage clashes against the United States and Ireland in the 2024 T20 World Cup are set to hit the stands on Tuesday, March 19. Alongside these pivotal encounters, tickets for eleven other matchups, featuring teams from the USA and West Indies, will also become available from the same date.
Already, tickets for 37 out of the 55 games scheduled for the tournament have been released, including the much-anticipated showdown between arch-rivals India and Pakistan. Since ticket sales opened via a public ballot on February 1st, the demand for the India-Pakistan fixture has skyrocketed, with resale platforms seeing tickets being sold for as high as Rs 1.86 crore.
Responding to the overwhelming demand, the ICC has announced the release of additional general admission tickets and premium hospitality packages for the 37 games for which tickets were already available. Prices for tickets vary, with matches in the Caribbean starting as low as $6, while those in the USA begin at $35.
Out of the 55 matches scheduled, tickets will be up for grabs for 51, with supplementary seats being made available for 37 matches and an additional 13 games. These extra matches, along with their respective venues, include the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Trinidad and Tobago, hosting the first semifinal on June 26th, and Broward County Stadium in Lauderhill, where Pakistan will take on Ireland on June 16th.
Chris Tetley, the ICC Head of Events, expressed delight in collaborating with commercial partners to ensure the availability of tickets for all 51 matches. Additionally, fans can start planning for the semifinal showdowns in the West Indies, with tickets for the matches on June 26th and June 27th set to go on sale next Tuesday.
