Sunrisers Hyderabad to Retain Pat Cummins for INR 18 Crores: Reports
The upcoming IPL 2025 mega auction promises to be a thrilling event, especially with the BCCI’s new rule allowing each franchise to retain up to six players, including the use of a Right to Match (RTM) card. Sunrisers Hyderabad’s retention list is expected to be among the most closely watched, given the team’s high-profile players.

Pat Cummins’ retention, in particular, will be a significant decision. The Australian captain, who led SRH to the final last season, is reportedly staying with the team for INR 18 crore, down from the INR 20.50 crore he fetched last season. Abhishek Sharma, who had a breakthrough season with 484 runs at a strike rate of over 200, is also expected to continue with SRH for INR 14 crore.

The retention guidelines set by the BCCI for IPL 2025 have specified salary slabs of INR 18 crore for Player No. 1, INR 14 crore for Player No. 2, and INR 11 crore for Player No. 3, among others.

SRH is also likely to use the RTM card to secure the services of explosive opener Travis Head and India’s emerging talent Nitish Kumar Reddy, further strengthening their lineup for the 2025 season.
