SRH combines international experience with domestic talent to craft a balanced squad for IPL 2025
Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) made a bold statement at the IPL 2025 Mega Auction in Jeddah by securing marquee players Ishan Kishan and Mohammed Shami. Kishan, signed for ₹11.25 crore, brings explosive batting power at the top, while Shami, acquired for ₹10 crore, reinforces SRH’s bowling arsenal following his stellar World Cup 2023 campaign.
The 2016 champions also snapped up Harshal Patel for ₹8 crore to strengthen their death-bowling options and added leg-spinner Rahul Chahar and Australian spinner Adam Zampa for variation. Domestic talents Atharva Taide and Abhinav Manohar joined the roster, adding depth to the middle order.
Strategic Day 2 Additions Round Out SRH’s Squad
Despite entering Day 2 with just ₹5.15 crore, SRH capitalized on the remaining rounds to fill key slots. The franchise brought in experienced pacer Jaydev Unadkat, England’s Brydon Carse, and Sri Lankan all-rounder Kamindu Mendis, ensuring a well-rounded squad for IPL 2025.
With just ₹20 lakh left in their purse, SRH has assembled a dynamic team ready to challenge for their first title since 2016. Under the leadership of their retained core, including Pat Cummins and Heinrich Klaasen, SRH looks to combine international flair with emerging domestic talent for a strong campaign.
