Spain’s women’s football team recently registered a victory against England by 1-0 in the Final game of FIFA Women’s World Cup 2023 on 20 August in Sydney, Australia. This is the maiden title win for the Spanish women’s football team.
The Spanish team’s captain Olga Carmona became the only goal scorer in the game. Olga Carmona scored the goal in the 29th minute of the match. The win is considered historic for the Spanish football team since they failed to make it past round 16 in the previous season.
Spain defeated Switzerland, Netherlands and Sweden to achieve victory. The English football team made multiple changes throughout the match by bringing in Lauren James and Chloe Kelly for Alessia Russo and Rachel Daly, but the team management’s efforts went in vain.

Olga Carmona’s father dies while his Daughter makes Spain Proud
Reportedly, Olga Carmona’s father was fighting for his life as his daughter made the country proud and as soon as Spain won the tournament, Olga Carmona’s father succumbed to his illness and lost his life.
“Y sin saberlo tenía mi Estrella antes de que empezase el partido. Sé que me has dado la fuerza para conseguir algo único. Sé que me has estado viendo esta noche y que estás orgulloso de mí. Descansa en paz, papá (I know you have been watching me tonight and that you are proud of me. Rest in peace Dad. And without knowing it, I had my star before the game started. I know that you have given me the strength to achieve something unique),” said Olga Carmona on her Instagram.
