The war between the two former captains of Team India, Sourav Ganguly and Virat Kohli, has intensified. Sourav Ganguly did not shake hands with Virat Kohli after the match between RCB and Delhi Capitals on Saturday. After this it became known that all is not well between Sourav Ganguly and Virat Kohli.
Not only this, after the match on Saturday, Virat Kohli unfollowed Sourav Ganguly from his Instagram handle. Sourav Ganguly has also responded to this move of Virat Kohli in his own style. The former chairman of the Board of Control for Cricket in India has unfollowed Virat Kohli from all social media platforms.
Actually, the dispute between Sourav Ganguly and Virat Kohli started after the T20 World Cup in 2021. At the beginning of the T20 World Cup, Virat Kohli had announced to leave the captaincy from the shortest format. At that time Sourav Ganguly was the President of BCCI and he made a shocking statement claiming that he did not want to see Virat Kohli giving up the captaincy. He also claimed to have appealed to Virat to continue as captain.
But after some time, Virat Kohli was also removed from the ODI captaincy. After this move of BCCI, Virat Kohli attacked Sourav Ganguly and said that he was never asked to remain the captain. This controversy increased further when Virat Kohli gave up the captaincy of the Test format in January 2022.
